Happy Tuesday everyone!!!
I just love the sunrise because it reminds me that God’s mercies are new for me each morning, even though I am so undeserving.
Mercy is defined as: compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, an enemy, or other person in one's power; compassion, pity, or benevolence.
Though we are messy, undeserving, and sinful, The Lord’s mercies never (extra emphasis on never) cease. When times are hard, and life doesn’t seem to make sense, His mercies are still there. Each morning, He provides us with hope for a new day full of His love and grace.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
I went to watch the sunrise this morning with some of my sweet friends and because of thick fog and clouds, we could not see the sun. At first I was kind of sad and disappointed that I woke up at 5:30 A.M to see the sunrise and it was covered by clouds, but The Lord spoke to me in that moment and completely changed my perspective.
He reminded me that even though circumstances, trials, or people (the clouds) may block my view of Him (The Son), His mercies are still there, and always will be. Through faith, I am able to trust in what is not able to be seen, and still have peace and hope for what is to come.
because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace. Luke 1:78-79
I pray that if you are reading this, you would pause and remember that God loves you so dearly. He loves you so much that He sent Jesus to become sin, even though He lived a perfect, sin-free life, so that we might become the righteousness of God. This same God promises us new mercies each and every day. He wants us to cast our cares on Him and to trust in Him fully. He wants to fill us with peace that surpasses all understanding.
That is love.
There will be things in your life that may block your view of God, just like the clouds blocked my view of the sunrise this morning, but His promises still remain true.
for we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
I want to leave and encourage you with the same verse I mentioned above, Lamentations 3:22-23 in the VOICE version.
How enduring is God’s loyal love; the Eternal has inexhaustible compassion.
Here they are, every morning, new! Your faithfulness, God, is as broad as the day.
Have an amazing Tuesday!
